The SACMI approach to robotized green finishing

In ceramic sanitaryware manufacture, automation of finishing is crucial to improving product quality and process efficiency by reducing manual operations. For this reason, SACMI is focusing on robotized green finishing, with versatile solutions which can be tailored to fit specific customer requirements and plant layouts.  

Green finishing includes operations such as fettling, cleaning up technical/functional holes, sponging and removing excess glue. These procedures are typically carried out immediately after the piece has been demoulded and can be performed automatically by anthropomorphous robots.  

Equipped with special tools, the robot guarantees maximum precision, speed and consistency. The result is repeatable quality, while reducing process times and risk of error due to manual handling. The solution can be adapted for various casting cells (AVM, AVI, ADI, etc), to suit the different levels of automation in use.
